Alban CAT, the Caterpillar dealer for the mid-Atlantic region is accepting applications for a Field Technician I, tractor in our Upper Marlboro branch.
The Field Service Technician I-Tractor is responsible for providing advanced level diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment at customer sites. Apply advanced level troubleshooting techniques and determine proper repair procedures on all assigned work orders. Service, diagnose and repair all machine components and systems, including engine/components air conditioning units; change hoses; repair cylinders, buckets, and booms; at customer’s jobsite. Disassemble, inspect and determine parts needed. Reassemble to factory specifications. Interact with customer and answer repair-related questions as required. Refer non-repair related questions to supervisor. Perform minor electrical and computer repairs. Interpret and utilize information from operating, maintenance and service manuals/bulletins. Inspect components removed from machines to determine their reusability. Prepare parts requisitions, parts returns, accurate and complete service reports, and other necessary reports and forms. Clearly and concisely document all work and repairs completed in a timely manner. Safely drive a service vehicle.
Previous experience with heavy construction equipment repair. Must have experience troubleshooting and diagnosing advanced level mechanical repairs. Experience in the use and application of computer software. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to interact with customers on a professional level. Must be a strong communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be well organized and have ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service. Must be willing to travel and work hours as required by job and customer demand. Must have excellent troubleshooting skills. Must have excellent mechanical aptitude. Must have the ability to repair Caterpillar and competitive components and machines. Current driver’s license. Must have a good driving record. Be available to work additional hours as needed to meet customer demand.
