Alban CAT, the Caterpillar dealer for the mid-Atlantic Region is accepting applications for a Project Manger II for our Elkridge branch.
The Project Manager II plans, directs, and coordinates activities of assigned projects to ensure that goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters by performing the following duties. Review project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project. Prepare project submittals and operation and maintenance manuals for submission to the customer. Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of project. Review all procurement options to ensure specification compliance while achieving or exceeding the project budget requirements and maintaining the required project schedule. Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required. Prepare project reports for management, client, or others. Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems. Coordinate project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies. Promptly and accurately respond to customer inquiries keeping them informed of expected completion dates and/or modifications/changes. Keeps abreast of current products: Generator Sets, Transfer Switches, and Switchgear. Travel to jobsites as needed to attend construction meetings, oversee deliveries and review jobsite issues.
Minimum of four years’ experience in the Power Generation field required. Minimum four years’ Project Management experience preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred. PMP certification preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Must have a strong understanding of diesel engines, engine emission controls, electrical power generation systems, electric switchgear and UPS systems. Good understanding of generator sets, transfer switches, and switch gear. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Experience dealing with multiple disciplines such as contractors, consultants, engineers and end users. Requires ability to move between projects as priorities change. Must have excellent time management and organizational skills required. Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands. Must have excellent written, verbal and customer relations skills and be proficient with MS Office applications. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
