    Alban CAT, the Caterpillar dealer for the mid-Atlantic Region is accepting applications for a Rental Account Development Specialist for our Baltimore branch.

    Responsibilities

    The Rental Account Development Specialist is responsible for prospecting, qualifying and generating new rental business to support the rental sales process within a designated area.  Initiate communication and follow up with prospective customers in designated areas to determine equipment needs and introduce them to Alban solutions.  Contact dormant rental accounts to understand reasons for business change and re-establish relationships.  Conduct research to understand customer buying patterns, identify key decision makers, and uncover equipment needs.  Research project opportunities and changes in construction activity to focus sales efforts on areas of opportunity.  Provide consultative equipment and services recommendations on solutions best suited for a customer’s project requirements.  Maintain awareness of competitor advertisements and services offered.  Utilize CRM tools daily to record contacts and facilitate communication with sales force and management.  Staff retail/rental counter when needed, including answering incoming phone calls and assisting retail traffic.  Process rental reservations and contracts, including reservations, contracts and shipping documents, and invoices.  Follow up, qualify and close business from incoming leads.  Assist in any other branch function as needed and assigned by supervisor.  Perform various other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    Minimum of one year direct work experience in a sales or customer support role.  Experience in the heavy construction equipment industry preferred.  Must be a strong communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to develop and execute effective action plans and handle customer situations to produce results.  Must have excellent work ethic, self-discipline and be self-motivated with a strong desire to excel.  Must be well organized and have ability to execute effective action plans, also prioritize workload and handle several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.  Must be proficient with MS-Office applications.  Must be able to travel and work flexible hours as required.  Must have a current, valid driver's license and a good driving record.
