Alban CAT, the Caterpillar dealer for the mid-Atlantic Region is accepting applications for a Lead Shop Technician - Rents for Dulles branch.
The Shop Technician Lead - Provides direction and support for shop technicians-rents. Directs activities of shop technicians-rents. Train and mentor inexperience technicians to enable them to become a productive team member. Monitor progress of jobs to keep on schedule and maintain orderly flow of work in shop. Ensure service work gets completed in order of priority. Open work order segments for additional repairs and notify Service Advisor. Gather information from SIS, CAT, WTY, DBS and other systems as needed to help in diagnosis and repair and determine warranty. Assist technicians in preparing estimates and to ensure it includes all aspects of the repair. Ensure technicians follow all diagnostic procedures as outlined by vendor service manuals and complete all needed warranty report. Review service reports for accuracy and completeness. Responsible for quality control. Ensure compliance of company policies. Maintain clean shop and promote safety procedures. Perform various other duties as assigned.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing advanced level repairs to Heavy Construction Equipment. Must be able to lead and motivate employees. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and manage time effectively. Must have the ability to repair Caterpillar and competitive components and machines. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to interact with customers on a professional level. Must be an excellent communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be well organized and have ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service. Must be willing to travel and work hours as required by job and customer demand. Must have good troubleshooting skills. Must have advanced mechanical aptitude. Must be able to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products.
