  • Overview

    Alban CAT, the Caterpillar dealer for the mid-Atlantic Region is accepting applications for Machinist I, 2nd Shift for our Baltimore branch.


    The Machinist I is responsible for machining metal parts and fabricating basic items, reading prints, and repairing metal parts to factory prints, customer dimensions and sample parts.  Performs machining of basic metal parts with assistance of mechanical equipment, including lathes, milling and boring machines.  Re-machines parts to repair and maintains critical dimensions.  Fabricates and modifies defective parts as needed.  Inspects completed work to determine structural soundness and fit to mechanical part.  Maintains machining equipment, cleans equipment and performs various other duties as assigned.


    Must have experience in machining, reading prints, viewing dimensions and samples.  Computer Numerical Control (CNC) experience preferred.  Must be familiar with standard machining and welding concepts, practices and procedures.  Must be able to machine from raw castings and bar stock. Must be able to read micrometers and other measuring devices accurately.  Must have good troubleshooting skills and be able to read specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate machining process.
